The Citan: The new van about Town

Following the success of the Sprinter and Vito, we now have a new member of the Mercedes-Benz Van Family.

Powerful yet compact, the Citan has been carefully developed to meet the needs of our customers in the small van market.

The Citan is especially suited for city use, whatever your business needs. It is available in a variety of lengths and model variants, and combine that with its impressive driving dynamics, exemplary safety and economy and a high level of versatility and robustness, you have a truly professional urban van.

The Citan will be launched at S & B Commercials in January 2013.

Versatility

The new Mercedes-Benz Citan is versatile and adaptable, making it the perfect partner for your business. Based on a panel van, the Citan has all the qualities that are traditionally associated with the Mercedes-Benz Star.

The Citan is available in a choice of three lengths and three model variants:

Citan Panel Van:

Available in three lengths: 3.94 meters (compact), 4.32 meters (long) and 4.71 meters (extra-long).

Citan Mixto:

• Length: 4.71 meters (extra-long)
• Five seats
• Foldable rear bench seat
• Two sliding side doors

Citan Crewbus:

• Length: 4.32 meters (long)
• Five seats
• Foldable rear bench seat
• Sliding door

The Citan is also available in three weight variants, with a GVW up to 2,200kg.

Engine

The Citan comes with a broad choice of engine options:

Diesel

Three high-torque turbo-diesel direct injection engines, ranging from 75hp (55kW) to 110hp (81kW). All come equipped with a diesel particulate filter as standard. BlueEFFICIENCY package available as an optional extra.

Petrol

A nippy, supercharged petrol engine, generating 114hp (84kW).

Transmission

Power is transmitted to the front wheels by five and six-speed transmissions with an easily reachable gear lever.

BlueEFFICIENCY

The petrol Citan comes with BlueEFFICIENCY package as standard, and as optional equipment for the diesel versions. Included in the BlueEFFICIENCY package are:

• ECO start/stop function
• Battery and generator management system
• Variant-dependent low rolling-resistance tyres.

Safety

As with all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, safety was paramount in the design of new Citan.

The Citan’s direct-response steering system ensures a safe, precise and comfortable road performance.

The Citan is equipped with the Electric Stability Program ADAPTIVE ESP as standard. This advanced dynamic handling control system combines:

• Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
• Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) – controls over & understeer
• Traction Control System (TCS)
• Accelerations Skid Control (ASR)
• Drive & braking torque control

Interior

The interior of the Citan is equipped to the high standard you expect of a Mercedes-Benz:

• The seats are firm, yet comfortably upholstered for both the driver & front passenger
• The fabric cover is breathable & durable, and easy to care for
• The backrests are shaped specifically to provide good side-support, ensuring comfort & safety
• The instrument panel is driver focused, with a leather-like grain giving it an attractive look and feel
