Vito E-CELL: The Electric Mercedes-Benz Van That’s Burning Up The Streets Of London

Eco-friendly freight company Gnewt Cargo have recently added four fully electric Mercedes-Benz Vito E-CELLs to its contract with London based logistics firm TNT Express. These groundbreaking new electric vans will operate primarily within London’s Congestion Zone so this is fantastic news for London and big step in the right direction when it comes to cutting down pollution in the city. 

Vito to be launched at the CV Show

The CV show is the biggest and best road freight transport event staged in Britain. New Safer Lorry Scheme Given the Go Ahead by Boris Johnson

London mayor Boris Johnson has confirmed that Britain’s first Safer Lorry Scheme will go ahead in the capital later this year.

The Mayor, Transport for London (TFL) and London Councils have given the green light to the new London-wide scheme that will place a ban on any lorry not fitted with safety equipment. The scheme has been designed to protect cyclists and pedestrians, and its proposal received 90 per cent support at the public consultation stage.

New driver data security measures announced by ADLV

You may have heard the news that the Association for Driving Licence Verification (ADLV) has announced they will introduce new measures to help reinforce the quality and security of driving licence data for corporate fleet users. What this means is that they are hoping to create a new industry standard, which will ensure risk free access to licence data once the paper counterpart disappears, as planned in 2015.
