IMPERIAL Holdings SA, owners of IMPERIAL Commercials, one of the UK’s largest independent commercial vehicle dealership groups and Orwell Truck & Van Ltd, a Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer based In East Anglia have purchased the entire share capital of S & B Commercials PLC from the Holmes family. S & B Commercials is a Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle franchise dealer located in North London, Hertfordshire and Essex. The four principal sites are located in Welham Green, Hatfield, Stansted and West Thurrock. The business employs around 275 people.

Vito taxis help launch cocktail competition in Edinburgh

In conjunction with a seller of premium spirits and a taxi advertising company, a fleet of Mercedes Vito vans helped launch a major cocktail competition in Edinburgh.

The Vito vans, which are most commonly used as black taxis in big cities such as London as well as Edinburgh, have been recruited by Hi-Spirits as part of Buffalo Trace Distillery’s taxi campaign to raise awareness of the Edinburgh Festival Cocktail Competition.

Gloucestershire haulier makes savings with the New Actros

T Barry, a haulage specialist in Gloucestershire, has only been running its Mercedes New Actros trucks for ten weeks, but the company is already seeing incredible fuel efficiency returns.

The company first purchased a new Mercedes Actros 2551 model with a 510hp engine, and it managed to return 6.97mpg after just ten weeks of service. This was impressive, especially considering that the fleet average is 6.4mpg.

The next purchase for T Barry six weeks later was a Mercedes 2542 New Actros with a 420hp engine, and this unit is now averaging 6.91mpg.

Vito Sport X joins Multi Distribution fleet alongside Sprinter and Atego

Multi Distribution, a distribution specialist based in Croydon, Hemel Hempstead and Oxford, has a brand new addition to its fleet of Mercedes vans and trucks. The family-run company has purchased a Mercedes Vito van, with another two on order.

Wanting a vehicle with a little more personality than other compact vans, managing director Zamir Raja went for the Vito Sport X, which has a 224bhp V6 engine and in this case, has been ordered with a stunning bright purple body wrap.

Explaining why he plumped for the Vito Sport X over other Mercedes vans, Zamir said:
